Sustainability

The goal of sustainable construction is to reduce the consumption of resources in the construction of a project, and to reduce the use of resources required to operate the project upon completion. The ideal outcome is to utilize resources without undermining the sustainability of natural systems and the environment, thus making the systems and environment available to meet the needs of future generations. The LEED process and sustainability practices are complimentary in constructing projects with reduced environmental impact. While building codes and user requirements impose numerous conditions on sustainable construction (particularly in critical care facilities), Miles & Kelley works closely with architects and project owners to implement sustainable practices during construction and to achieve a sustainable end product.
